Description :

Brett Bullington has long been one of the most liked and admired Silicon Valley executives, investors and mentors. Raised in Torrance, CA, he graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1976 with a degree in political science, helping to pay for college as a metal worker. At the beginning of the dot-com era Brett joined Excite, the early search engine and portal, helping lead it to an IPO and peak valuation of $22 billion. Brett subsequently went on to work with startups including Digg, Flickr, Jotspot, Next New Networks and Homegain, helping several of them to get acquired by companies including Yahoo!, Google and YouTube. Brett has also been deeply involved with the charity, Carolina for Kibera, for which he set out in 2012 on a cross-country bike ride that would end up changing his life. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and came close to death. He has made a remarkable recovery, still ongoing, and now counsels others on this road to recovery.
